Although it is her last name, it would appear that Zoe’s life has not been so lucky. The story revolves around a local burglar who is on the loose. After their new place, Green Gables is broken into, Zoe’s mother wishes to move the family away. Zoe convinces her mother to stay and with the help of her new boyfriend, her bi-lingual (Swahili and English) parrot, and a trustworthy detective named Tracy, she starts in on cracking this enjoyable mystery wide open.
